Our Process
Our Process for Commercial Painting Projects
Painting a commercial building doesn’t just happen overnight. It’s a process of determining what needs to be done and the best approach for completing the job. Although each building we paint is different, we have developed a tried-and-true process over the last three decades that has delivered exceptional results. Below is a brief outline of our process and how it benefits your company. To find out more about our process, you can call DANCO Commercial Painters at 612-598-3864.
- Schedule an Initial Consultation During the initial meeting, we’ll walk around your building to assess the current condition of your walls. In addition to a paint job, the walls may need some patching or repair. We identify areas of the wall that need maintenance and some upgrades before we start the paint job. We can also help you determine what type of paint or coating you need. We give you an overview of what the overall project is going to entail.
- Wall Design and Overall Appearance Once we determine what the job will involve, we will then go over your style and design options. This may be the most important stage of the project, because it will determine what the walls are going to look like upon project completion. You’ll have a wide range of colors, tones, materials, and design options at your disposal. We recommend that you take your time during this stage of the job, because you, your employees, and your customers will be the ones looking at your walls every day.
- Wall Renovation & Paint Preparation Now that we’ve laid the groundwork, we begin preparing your wall for a new paint job. Although the paint is the most visual aspect of the project, the preparation and behind-the-scenes work is the most important, because it will determine the overall quality of the job. Therefore, we are careful to execute this stage of the job with the utmost professionalism. Renovation may include caulking, pressure washing, patching, and sanding down the walls. Once we get to the paint stage of the job, your wall will be ready for the first coat.
- Painting and Coating Your Walls Your walls are ready to paint or topcoat. At this stage, we carefully apply the paint or coating best suited to protect your building. The result will be a smooth weather resistant surface and a professional look that will enhance your property inside or outside. Properly applied paint or coating will protect your walls from the harsh Minnesota weather and elements. With a solid layer of paint or coating, your walls should last year after year. Once the job is complete, we recommend getting your walls inspected and cleaned at least once every two to three years.
